Shipping Q&A
How long orders take, where we ship, and how a firearm gets to your dealer. These answers follow our Terms and Conditions.
How long until my order ships?
- 3 to 7Business days for firearms, parts and ammunition
- 3 to 9Business days for NFA items. Can run longer while the Form 3 is processed.
- +1 to 3Extra business days for orders that need ID or an FFL under state law
These are our outside limits. Most orders ship faster than this, or at the early end of these ranges. The extra room covers the occasional delay, so please give us a little grace.
Business days don't include weekends or holidays when carriers aren't running. We're closed on weekends and don't process orders then.
When will I hear from you after I order?
We email you after you order, so watch your inbox. Our emails sometimes land in spam or promotions, so check there too.
If it's been 3 business days and you still haven't heard from us, email info@bsifirearms.com with your name and order or invoice number and we'll look into it. You don't need to check in before then.
Where does a firearm ship?
Firearms ship only to a licensed FFL dealer: a local gun shop, pawn shop or range that will accept the transfer. Use Find Your FFL to see licensed dealers near you.
NFA items (suppressors, SBRs and SBSs) ship only to an SOT dealer, after ATF approves the Form 3. See our NFA Update page for how dealers are handling transfers now.
What should I do before it ships?
Call your FFL. Tell them a firearm is coming from BSI Firearms, make sure they're open and able to accept the delivery, and ask about their transfer fee. Coordinating with your dealer is your responsibility.
Where do you ship?
- We ship within the continental US only. We don't ship to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands or anywhere outside the continental US.
- Alaska: firearms can ship to an Alaska FFL for an added shipping fee based on location. Ask us for a quote before you buy. Ammunition doesn't ship to Alaska.
Can firearms and ammunition ship together?
No. Ammunition and firearms must be bought in separate orders.
Are there states you can't ship to?
Some items can't ship to some states:
- California and Massachusetts: civilian handgun sales are limited to the state handgun roster.
- Illinois, New Jersey and New York: restrictions based on state law.
- Ammunition: Illinois, Massachusetts and New Jersey need ID and a permit or FOID card, California ammunition must ship to an FFL, and we don't ship ammunition to New York, Alaska or Hawaii.
- California residents: we can't ship accessories because of California Bill 1263.
The full list is in the State restrictions section of our terms. If an order includes something that can't ship to your state, we'll cancel it.
What happens when it arrives at my dealer?
Inspect the firearm thoroughly before you fill out any paperwork. Once the transfer is complete, the firearm is accepted, and any issue after that goes through the manufacturer's warranty. We can't take returns on transferred firearms.
What if my dealer can't take the delivery?
If a shipment comes back because your FFL was closed, not there or refused delivery, new shipping charges apply to send it again. Calling your dealer before it ships avoids this.
